Call for papers

Future Internet Conference and Technical Workshops, May 2009, Prague

When the Future Internet Assembly will come together in Prague in May 2009 with the support of the Czech Presidency for the third Future Internet Conference we will have been working for a year since the successful event in Bled in April 2008 (http://www.future-internet.eu/events/future-internet-conference-bled-2008.html).  We would like to mark this milestone with a publication of the best Future Internet research ideas or achievements to date produced by the researchers in the projects that subscribe to the FIA.

We therefore invite submissions of high quality papers (around 10 pages) in all the areas of research related to the Future Internet. In particular, we strongly welcome papers on topics crossing boundaries, for example  those identified for the Madrid technical workshops (http://www.future-internet.eu/home/future-internet-assembly/madrid-dec-2008.html): "future content network(s)", "real world Internet", "Identity and Trust", "Future Internet service offer", "management and governance of the Future Internet", "socio-economics of the Future Internet" or "usage of facilities based on use cases". But also more specific papers are welcome.

We strongly encourage also submissions from the industrial community covering the state of practice and real-world experience related to possible Future Internet design(s). Industry papers could describe innovative implementations, novel applications as well as insights and improvements to the state-of-practice. Case studies from practitioners emphasizing applications, technology, system deployment, organizational ramifications, or business impact are especially welcome. Papers should provide sufficient details on the application domain, the techniques used, the issues surrounding actual implementations and applications, and the lessons learned in the field.

All submissions will be subject to peer review by at least two members of the program committee. Selection criteria include overall contribution to the future internet, accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results, and quality of presentation. We envisage maximum 20 papers to be selected.
