Session 2.1 - Mobile cloud
Mobile Cloud
(PDF)
Poznan, October 25th 2011, 15:00 - 17:00
Title of the workshop
Mobile cloud: New trends in business going mobile
Format of the workshop
Presentations, focusing on practical applications of mobile cloud and discussion
Problem Statement and Objectives of the workshop
Mobile cloud is a new concept. One may wonder how new or different it really is. Is it exactly the same as mobile access to an internet based service or are there significant differences? It doesn't really matter if this question is answered with yes or no, there are still numerous research questions related to mobile applications. For instance, what are the mobile characteristics that can be exploited for innovative applications? What functionality should be on the mobile, what in the cloud? How are mobile users behaving? This session will try to identify a number of major challenges that need to be solved by forward looking research. Are there any implications for the design of the future internet?
