The Role of ICT Infrastructures in Horizon 2020

The FP7 OSIRIS project (Towards an Open and Sustainable ICT Research Infrastructure Strategy) is organizing a high level strategic event on "The role of ICT research infrastructures in Horizon 2020" which is hosted by Ms. Kathleen Van Brempt (Member of the European Parliament).

The Horizon 2020 EU framework programme for research and innovation will build on 3 major pillars:

  • tackling Societal Challenges,
  • creating Industrial Leadership and
  • establishing Excellence in Science.

An essential part of these major objectives is the provision of excellent research infrastructures. This strategic event will discuss the important question on the role of ICT research infrastructures in the Horizon 2020 framework programme:

  • Where are we today?
  • Where do we expect to be in 2020?
  • How can we bridge this gap through the Horizon 2020 programme?
