NEM Summit 2012 - “Implementing Future Media Internet towards New Horizons”

Fifth Edition of annual conference organised by NEM Initiative - European Technology Platform - 16-18 October 2012, Istanbul, Turkey

NEM Initiative, the Networked and Electronic Media European Technology Platform, is organising the fifth edition of its main annual conference NEM Summit 2012 in Istanbul (Turkey) on 16-18 October 2012. Building on successful previous Summit editions, this NEM Summit will address various issues, such as research and business challenges, societal and user needs, implementation requirements, regulatory and standardisation environment, etc., related to the Implementation of the Future Media Internet towards New Horizons.

Programme of the NEM Summit 2012 will consist of a number of key notes and invited talks, an exhibition focused on presentation of research results in the NEM area achieved by various projects and organisations, three Scientific and Technical Summit Tracks, as well as an Application and Experimentation Summit Track. In order to collect relevant contributions from wide NEM community on Scientific and Technical as well as Application and Experimentation Summit Tracks, the NEM Summit 2012 Programme Committee is issuing the following

CALL FOR PAPERS undefinedCall for Papers

The NEM Summit 2012 will have the following three Scientific and Technical Tracks:

- New Digital Media Content - Generation, Transmission, and Consumption
- New Networked Media Experience
- New Connected Media Worlds

All stakeholders of networked and electronic media are invited to submit scientific and technical papers addressing topics defined within the NEM Summit Tracks, which are described below. The submissions should present original work, innovative ideas, and achieved results. Besides contributions to the three Summit Tracks, mentioned above, all further valuable scientific and technical contributions addressing relevant NEM research topics, as defined in the NEM Strategic Research Agenda (last version - 8.0 - available on the NEM Initiative website - www.nem-initiative.org), will be considered by the Programme Committee as well.

Besides the Scientific and Technical Tracks, the NEM Summit 2012 will also provide the floor for talks on innovative applications or related business models, in particular considering specific issues related to SME's, in the scope of itsApplication and Experimentation Track, where all stakeholders of networked and electronic media are invited to submit descriptions of new and innovative applications and experimentation in the NEM area. The submissions should also present original work, innovative ideas, and results, including description of on-going activities and development of related products, services, and applications for increasing the competitiveness.

Important Dates and Submission Guidelines

Submission deadline: 14 May 2012
extended paper submission deadline: 10 June 2012

Acceptance notification: 16 July 2012
Deadline for final papers: 1 October 2012
